What's New on MoparScape: A New Home Page, Faster Pages and a Blog

Over the last few weeks we have rebuilt a large part of MoparScape: a new home page, faster pages, working reviews and this blog. Here is what changed for players and server owners.
A new home page
The home page now starts with a search box and quick links to the main lists: RSPS, WoW, Minecraft, GTA RP and game server hosting. Below that you will find the most popular server in each of these categories, every server list with a short explanation of what it covers, and a step-by-step guide to how MoparScape works.
Search also got better: typing a category, such as "osrs" or "minecraft", now finds the servers in that category, not only servers with that word in their name.
Faster pages
Server banners used to be heavy animated GIFs, some of them several megabytes each. They are now served as short videos that look the same: together they went from 662 MB to 65 MB, about ten times smaller. The RSPS list and server pages load much faster, especially on phones.
We also made server pages lighter: the spam check for votes and reviews now only loads when you scroll to the vote or review form, instead of on every page view.
Reviews work again
The review form on server pages was broken for a long time: reviews were sent to the wrong address and never saved. Players can now leave a review again, with a 1 to 5 star rating that is shown next to each review.
Server information on every page
Each server page now has a short information block under the description: the server's category, the month it was listed on MoparScape, how voting works and how to leave a review. It makes it easier to compare servers and to see how long a server has been around.
Play buttons that work
About 60 servers had Play or Site buttons that led to a "page not found" error, because their website was entered without "http://" or with a typo. These buttons now open the server's website. Images in server descriptions whose hosts no longer exist are hidden instead of showing as broken.
A clearer menu and footer
The menu is now the same on every page. Categories and the RSPS List each have their own dropdown, and our guides and the Add Listing button for server owners are one click away.
The MoparScape Blog
This blog is new too. Here we will post practical guides for players, tips for server owners and news about the site. Start with How to Choose an RSPS or, if you run a server, How to Make Your Server Page Stand Out.
